Kaos Surge
The Under 15 Kaos Surge team, representing the Redding Youth Soccer League, is tuning up for another successful soccer team. The team goals of having fun, learning soccer and competing in the northern California soccer community were more than met. As a U13 team the Surge competed in 2006 U14 tournaments and league winning 12 matches and losing 11 coming on strong at the end with a second place finish in the District IX Cup. The 2007 team returns nearly all of the 2006 Surge players and promises to be very competitive.
On August 2nd and 3rd the Surge played in the Folsom Classic. The Surge finished second in their pool after a hard fought loss to the Folsom Galaxy. The team then went on and played the Fair Oaks Titans for third place and won 5 to 1. Great opening tournament for all with great defense (only four goals allowed in the four games) and scoring from a lot of different players (13 goals from seven different players).
The Surge moved on to Arcata for the Mad River Classic. The Surge got off to a great start including a 7 to 1 win over Palo Cedro followed by a close 1 to 0 win over Ukiah. On Sunday the Surge beat Mad River 6 to 1 to advance to finals against a tough Eel River team Eel River won the final 2 to 0 in a tough battle. It was a lot of fun getting out of the Redding heat....the Mad River Soccer Club sure knows how to throw a party!
Over Labor Day weekend the Surge moved on to the Labor Day Games in Red Bluff. The Surge started out strong with a 3 to 0 win over Union City and 7 to 1 over Anderson before taking a hard fought 3 to 0 win over Red Bluff to advance to the finals. In the finals the Redding Revolution got off to a great start with a goal early before the Surge responded with five unanswered goals and a Labor Day Games championship.
Next up the Redding September tournament that will feature some outstanding competion from around the north State.
